New Direction

Oil on Canvas 28" x 32"

These are a couple new paintings I've been working on the last little while. I think I am on to something here. After 12 years of painting, I feel like I am just starting to figure out what my style is.

Looking up

Oil on Canvas ~ 22" x 28"

Bricks, bricks and more bricks

Over the course of the summer, I was working on a mural in Sunworks, a funky home and garden shop downtown Red Deer. It was mostly faux finishing, and took several layers to get the desired effect. I learned how to play with Venetian plaster and got to scamper up and down shaky scaffolding. I wanted to do a bit more to it, but there were a few scheduling conflicts, so it is what it is. And I'm pleased with the outcome. Here are a few pics of the finished product.

The crumbling wall from the second floor

Soon there will be a fancy railing on the Juliet balcony
handmade by the amazing Trenton Thomas Leach.

The landscape had been there for 10 years. I did some much needed touch ups.

Jump!

Thank you to everyone who came out to my show! It was fun.
The paintings will be on display until the end of July.
Excited about my show at the Harris -Warke Gallery

I've been working on a mural for the last few weeks at a shop downtown Red Deer called Sunworks (which is where the Harris-Warke Gallery in located). It is mainly faux finishing; creating old weathered mossy bricks. A lot of work, but so far so good. I've fixed and patched the mural that has been there for 10 years and wasn't in very good shape after many renos and nail holes. There are a few more touches to be added. I'll post pics once it is complete.

But first, road trip to Oregon. Can't wait!
